Subject Matter Expert

Subject Matter Expert (SME) Definition:
Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are professionals, academics or practitioners invited by the Melton Foundation (the MF) who possess broad knowledge, profound research or personal experiences related with the Symposium theme and Work Group (WG) topics of a specific year.

We have prepared the Subject Matter Expert (SME) POOL to facilitate your Work Group (WG) discussions. You can check the SME POOL to learn about the basic information and research interest of each SME.

Meanwhile we want to explain how you can make use of the SME POOL this year. Unlike previous years, SMEs are not assigned nor subscribed to each WG. However, every month each WG can raise at most five questions to SME(s) who you feel appropriate, not constrained to the SMEs under its same category. For example, if the Education WG have questions regarding the economy development in rural areas which will help them better understand rural education, they can address such questions to SME under Economy category.

Since there would be some necessary translation work and maybe communication problem, it is advised that you send the questions (if any) by the 15th of each month to Yanlin Chen (chenyanlin21@gmail.com), a ZU Junior Fellow who will serve as the contact person between WG and SMEs. We will try to distribute the questions (if you only choose the category of SME but not a specific SME to answer the questions) and get back to each WG with answers as soon as possible. You can refer to the SME Roles page for more information.

Hope you all have a fruitful discussion!

Greetings,
